• Teach communications subjects in both the classroom setting of post-secondary programs as well as in the 1:1 teacher: student environment of
Academic Upgrading where the ability to connect to and serve each learner individually is key.
• Create positive teaching and learning environments
• Use a variety of teaching/learning strategies based on student needs
• Ensure courses are current and relevant by designing, revising, and updating courses and learning resources
• Evaluate and report on student achievement of learning outcomes with a variety of approaches and techniques
• Establish effective communication among students and colleagues
• Function as an effective team member

As part of teaching assigned courses, the successful candidate will be expected to act as an academic advisor to students in the program, The incumbent should embody a commitment to student success and professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multi-cultural organization.


• B.A. English or humanities.
• Experience in teaching, especially in academic upgrading or similar environments.
• B.Ed., M.Ed.
Skills and Experience:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Digital literacy
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• 3-5 years of related experience

Proof of valid WHMIS/WHMIS Review card is a requirement for employment with Northern College.
