Applications are invited for a Professor, Industrial Automation Engineering, in the School of Technology located at the Welland Campus with duties to commence August 2019.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the School of Technology, this exciting role requires the successful candidate to provide an effective learning environment to deliver courses in the Industrial Automation Post-Graduate Certificate program. The successful candidate will deliver industrial automation related courses including robotics, programmable logic controllers, industrial networks, project management and other courses in the program.

The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. This includes designing, revising and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with stakeholders (faculty, community and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilizing a variety of instruction medium /resources; and providing individualized instruction where necessary. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required qualifications include:

A three (3) year College diploma in a Mechanical, Electrical or Automation related program
A minimum of five (5) years relevant industry experience
Proven willingness to contribute to a strong team environment and positive work culture
Advanced internal and external networking/relationship building and liaison abilities
Strong oral and written communication, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

Preferred candidates may also possess:

Ten (10) years relevant industry experience
Two (2) years of previous teaching experience at a post-secondary level/or adult training experience with a curriculum focus in Advanced Manufacturing and automation courses including robotics, programmable logic controllers and simulation software, CNC machining and project management
Experience in curriculum design and development
Evidence of commitment to supporting and guiding students towards their successes
Proven ability to deliver course content to a diverse student population
Practical experience with online learning software and educational database applications
Experience in use of Microsoft Office software
P. Eng. or C.E.T. Designation
