Applications are invited for a full-time Professor, Human Resources at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus. This position commences in August 2019.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Business and Management, this exciting role requires the successful candidate to provide an invitational learning environment to deliver courses within the School of Business and Management, and to contribute to the scholarly activity of the division.

The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. This includes designing, revising and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with stakeholders (faculty, community and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilizing a variety of instruction medium /resources; and providing individualized instruction where necessary. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required qualifications include:
• A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area
Required experience:
• A minimum of 5 years recent related progressive experience in Human Resources including: benefits, disability management, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience at a post-secondary level or adult training experience in OHS
• Past history of forging strong working relationships with peers and co-workers
• Proven willingness to contribute in a strong team environment and positive work culture
• Demonstrating leadership and enthusiasm
• Evidence of commitment to supporting and guiding students towards their successes
• Proven ability to deliver course content to a diverse student population
• Advanced internal and external networking/relationship building and liaison abilities
• Professional affiliations and related professional designations
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
Preferred candidates may also possess:
• Affiliation with HRPA or equivalent
• Certification with any of the following: CRSP , CCOHS, NEBOSH
• Experience in curriculum design and development
• Experience in hybrid teaching / online teaching
• Practical experience with Blackboard and/or other online learning software programs
