POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidates will be required to teach courses in the Advanced Manufacturing Cluster within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology programs at the North campus and involvement and support activities that contribute to Humber's Centres of Innovation (COI). In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; contribution in program development, applied research, and other co-curricular activity involvement. The successful candidates will be expected to nurture an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a current and valid G2 Gas Technician license and a Journeyman Certificate of Qualification with 5years’ experience. Preference will be given to those with HRAI Certifications, Oil Burner Technician Certification, established HVAC industry connections, familiarity with HVAC Associations and governing bodies like HRAI, ASHRAE, RSES and TSSA. A strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and industry is required. They should possess teaching ability and an understanding of the learning process. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, strong written and oral communication skills.Experience coordinating project teams of learners working on industry projects / applied research across a broad industry base; and the integration of industry-led projects into curriculum is an asset.

The successful candidate will have the ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students; a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and fostering innovation and positive change; ability to coach and support students, experience managing classroom dynamics, and an understanding of the learning process, a student focused approach. Additionally, a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion; ability to be a collaborative team player; well-developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery are required.

This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
