What responsibilities will you have in this role?
The Professor is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective, learning-centered environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum. The successful candidate will teach courses at the Bachelor’s-degree level in the Bachelor degree level programs(s), in addition to diploma and certificate level courses when required.

•Responsible for development and delivery of industry-seminar style learning, online learning, special integrated learning modules for learning in the workplace.
•Revision of present curriculum, program objectives, developing and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and the development/selection of appropriate learning materials.
•Researches and teaches subjects in their area of expertise, tutors, counsels, advises, and evaluates student program/achievements.
•Participates in the work of curriculum, program advisory and other committees, externship learning applications and monitoring, and special events for the Chef School including student recruitment.
•Maintains currency in his/her field through consultation with business and industry representatives. The Professor may also be called upon to contribute to other areas of activity ancillary to the academic programs of the Faculty.
•Development and maintenance of course materials posted on college learning management software (for example, BlackBoard, DesireToLearn, Moodle).
•Actively participates in ongoing events within the division.

What qualifications do you need for this role?
•The successful candidate must either hold or be currently enrolled in a PhD or DBA program in areas related to business, in particular, areas related to management, administration, strategic and/or resource management, organizational studies, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, hospitality, actuarial sciences, retail management, accounting, leadership or other similar fields. Candidates must have a focus on food or foodservice in their academic or research background. Strong knowledge of research, accounting, managerial accounting and statistics is an asset.
•Applicants must have some business or work experience preferably at a management level. Preference will be given to those with business or work experience in the culinary and/or hospitality field.
•Familiarity with the latest industry technology along with innovative teaching delivery methods and remain current in the field.
•A minimum of one-year teaching experience is preferred at a post-secondary level.
•Previous curriculum development is an asset.
•Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in the field and have strong computer skills.
