Classification: Full time Faculty
Salary Range: As per Academic Collective Agreement
Location: Ashtonbee Campus

In addition to teaching assigned courses the successful candidate will be expected to:
• Use respectful and effective interpersonal communications skills with, students, faculty, management and external partners
• Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills showing a sensitivity to intercultural communication
• Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based upon the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
• Participate effectively in a team –based work environment
• Create a positive teaching and learning environment for all students
• Use academic technology effectively to engage students and support learning
• Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes with a variety of approaches and techniques and provide regular timely feedback
• Use a variety of appropriate teaching/learning strategies
• Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources and curriculum
• Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
• Provide academic support to students as part of regularly scheduled office hours
• Teach courses to all levels of students in the Early Childhood Education program
• Contribute as a subject matter expert in early childhood to support curriculum development and revision
• Remain current in knowledge of the field of early childhood and in instructional delivery methodologies
• Attend meetings, maintain student grades/assessments and participate in activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities

• Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Studies related field. Masters preferred
• Registered with College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
• Minimum 5 years progressive and varied experience as an Early Childhood Educator
• Minimum of two years’ experience teaching or training adults
• Demonstrated understanding of child development, emergent curriculum and current issues/trends in Early Childhood Education, CCEYC, How Does Learning Happen, Family Support and Jk/Sk environments
• Knowledge of adult education principles and the role of learning outcomes, instructional approaches and evaluation techniques to be used
• Experience in program related applied research is an asset
• Experience course development and in the development of on-line course content, materials and resources
• Proven ability to use a variety of teaching/learning strategies
• Demonstrated competency in written, oral and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop learning materials and resources and deliver instruction for students, in face to face and online environments
• Skillful in working in teams and problem analysis and resolution
• Demonstrated understanding of diversity/equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and members of the college community
